Business and Financial Literacy

Most CFO’s and controllers will agree that they wish their people better understood company finances and budget management. Understanding financial statements, income statements, and cash flow is only half of the equation. Being able to interpret and manage the data in a cost effective way is the other half.  

“Full Throttle^®” is an active learning experience in the form of an experiential “hands-on” game. Working in teams, leaders learn how to become financially competent and learn how to view their business through the eyes of the CFO / Controller and through the eyes of the CEO. It teaches leaders how to figure out not only where the money is going but how to interpret the data in order to manage it better.  

Some functions participants will be able to perform upon completion will include:

• Identify the financial implications of the stages of the supply chain of a business.
• Interpret basic financial statements including:

  • Balance sheets
  • Statement of Cash Flow
• Apply useful ratios showing signals and trends
• See how financial results can be improved through a unit-basis approach
• See how financial information is reported through the Annual Report
• Understand the true drivers of business
• Understand how financial measures and ratios are impacted by strategic decisions
• Understand how the market responds to business decisions
• Appreciate how employees can make a difference in the overall value of a company
